Minecraft Dungeons II launches on September 29, 2026, on PC and consoles. Developed by Mojang Studios with Double Eleven and published by Xbox Game Studios, this sequel to the 2020 co-op hack-and-slash sends players beyond the Overworld into a brand-new dimension called the Sift.

A new threat, two worlds to save

The core formula returns: drop the pickaxe, grab a sword, and cut through hordes of mobs across procedurally varied dungeons built for replayability. This time, a new threat forces heroes to move between the familiar Overworld and the Sift, a mysterious territory never explored before in the series.

Platforms and Game Pass

  • Platforms: Windows, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and PlayStation 5. On PC, it’s sold through the Xbox app and on Steam.
  • Multiplayer: up to four players co-op, including cross-platform play.
  • Game Pass: available day one on Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass, with Standard Edition content included in the subscription.

Price and editions

  • Standard Edition: $29.99.
  • Deluxe Edition: $49.99, bundling both planned DLC packs as they release plus a larger cosmetic set.

Our take before release

The original Minecraft Dungeons won people over with accessible co-op simplicity, without ever chasing the depth of a real Diablo-like. The Sift, if it delivers on being a genuine break from the Overworld rather than a reskinned biome, could give the sequel the identity the first game was somewhat missing. We haven’t played the final build yet — full verdict after launch.
