After a delay announced last October, Bandai Namco confirmed on June 4 the launch date for Elden Ring on Nintendo Switch 2: August 28, 2026, priced at $79.99, under the name Tarnished Edition.

The 15fps problem is fixed

The demo shown at Gamescom 2025 raised eyebrows: the port ran at barely 15fps, bottlenecked by the console’s ARM CPU. FromSoftware says the issue has been resolved and is now targeting a stable 30fps in-game.

Two classes exclusive to this edition

The Tarnished Edition bundles the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion and adds two new starting classes: the Heavy Knight, built for tanking hits in bulky plate armor, and the more mobile, dexterity-focused Idus Knight.

Verdict

Whether 30fps holds up in Limgrave during a rainstorm remains to be seen. Full review lands August 28.
