GTA 6: November 19, 2026 is officially locked in
Take-Two reconfirmed the date at its latest earnings call. Pre-orders are open, preload starts November 12 — here's what we know about the decade's most anticipated launch.
There's no more suspense about the date: on July 20, Take-Two Interactive reconfirmed at its latest earnings call that Grand Theft Auto VI will launch on November 19, 2026 for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. It's the second time the date has held without slipping, after a track record of delayed financial guidance.
What's different from GTA 5
Rockstar confirms two playable protagonists, Jason and Lucia, caught in a criminal conspiracy across the fictional state of Leonida. The game returns players to a modern-day Vice City, rebuilt for the current generation rather than the original's 1980s aesthetic.
Pre-orders and pricing
Pre-orders have been live since June 25, with two editions: Standard at $79.99 and Ultimate at $99.99. Digital preload begins November 12, a week ahead of launch, so players can boot up at midnight without waiting on a multi-gigabyte download.
Industry analysts project GTA 6 will instantly top every other title on the 2026 sales chart the moment it ships — including Resident Evil Requiem, which has led the pack since the start of the year.
Three and a half months left to find out whether the wait was worth it.
