Konami announced that Silent Hill f has crossed one million units sold in just seven days across all platforms — a figure the publisher itself calls “the franchise’s best start since Silent Hill 2.”
A gamble that looked risky
Relocating the series to rural 1960s Japan, with a new heroine and no James or Pyramid Head, could have split the community. Instead, the change of setting is unanimously cited as the best creative call of the franchise’s revival since the Silent Hill 2 remake.
What it means going forward
Konami confirmed a second, non-remake Silent Hill project is already in development at a separate studio, without giving a name or date. f’s commercial success makes that announcement far more credible than it would have been a year ago.
Our take
The series is finally regaining momentum after fifteen rocky years. If the studio keeps this level of creative ambition, 2027 could be a very good year for psychological horror.
