A technical document apparently meant for a third-party case and accessory manufacturer leaked on a specialized Chinese forum, revealing precise dimensions and several key specs for a successor to the original Steam Deck.
What the document reveals
An 8-inch OLED screen (up from 7.4 on the current OLED model), a 4nm AMD chip promising a solid battery-life gain at equal performance, and a slightly lower weight despite the bigger battery. The dimensions match a chassis very close to the current one, suggesting continued compatibility with existing docking stations.
Why it’s credible
This kind of leak via a third-party accessory maker has historically been more reliable than the usual rumor mill: these companies receive precise specs months in advance to prepare their products, and have no incentive to make up numbers.
Our take
Valve has made no comment, consistent with its usual communication style. If the numbers hold up, this is a measured evolution rather than a full redesign — a sensible call for a device that still dominates its segment by a wide margin.
